THE CHURCH IN SAN ANTONIO - Lovers of Jesus affiliated with local churches, Watchman Nee, Witness Lee (History Page)

San Antonio is the second largest city in Texas, after Houston. In 1984, however, the population had not yet reached one million. At that time, there were four families living in San Antonio that had seen the vision of the local churches. They traveled to Houston on weekends to meet with the local church there. In the summer of 1984, there was a desire among the churches to migrate to certain cities. Several believers were led by the Lord to migrate from Dallas to San Antonio during the summer. On September 2, 1984, we held the first Lord's table (1Corinthians 10:21) in a Ramada Inn meeting room. Believers from Dallas, Austin, Houston, San Angelo, and Corpus Christi came to enjoy the Lord with us in San Antonio. It was a most glorious table meeting.

In 1988, the church in San Antonio purchased its current meeting hall at 5400 Callaghan, located about one mile inside Loop 410. This has been a good facility for the church here in many ways. Instead of meeting in various hotel conference rooms, we now have a place to accommodate all our needs. The children have meeting rooms and a yard to play in. The Lord has blessed the church in San Antonio very much, not only in outward increase but also with spiritual growth in our members through the fellowship with the Living Stream Ministry and the churches throughout the earth. The church also participates in the Russian gospel and ministry work; we have sent and supported two Christian brothers and two families to serve the Lord in Russia. Currently we also have one family in Latvia for the establishing of churches and continuing in the fellowship of the apostles’ teaching. We endeavor to participate in the Lord's move and count it a blessing.

We have been in San Antonio for sixteen years, and are now entering into the twenty-first century together. We stand on the ground of locality, receiving all believers who share our common faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. We are of many different nationalities: American, Chinese, Korean, and Latin American. We desire to have fellowship with all believers for the building up of the Body of Christ.

The Lord's Table is on the Lord's Day at 10:00 A.M. at 5400 Callaghan.

Prayer meetings in the homes are each Wednesday evening.

Small group meetings are in the homes each Friday evening.
